Nada Yoga: Music and mantras at Mangrove Yoga
Music and mantras can take you into meditation. It can be mesmerising to hear a mantra being chanted or sung. They can infuse the atmosphere with reverence and alter your emotional states. With a little guidance you can tune in to your own voice. You can use it not only for singing but also as a way to take yourself into meditation. The vibrations of voices in singing and chanting affect people emotionally and on even more subtle levels. Nada Yoga is the use of these effects to harmonise the personality and as an avenue into meditation – meditation on the subtle flows of energy in both your external and internal environment. This course will include an emphasis on the practices of Swara, which approaches music and singing from a meditative perspective, and also the chanting of mantra, from the ancient Vedic culture of India.
